It may be news to you, but most prospective employers do read cover letters. So let’s make it more effective. It is the boring cover letters that are thrown away, while a first-rate cover letter will give a future employer a positive impression of you. When you write a cover letter make sure that it reflects your communication skills, qualifications, abilities and professionalism and adherence to detail. Keep in mind that it is your first introduction to the company you wish to work for.
